SLLG AGM, 22nd April 2015

The 2015 Group AGM was held in the buildings of the Faculty of Advocates in Edinburgh on the afternoon of 22nd April.

21 members attended.

Group business included both the Convenor and Treasurer reports for 2014, honorary memberships and a proposal (carried) to increase the full membership fee in 2016 to £20. The outgoing Convenor and Secretary and one further committee member were thanked for all their dedication of their time in the committee and the group welcomed one new committee member.

Debra O’Malley now takes over the mantle of SLLG convenor from Emma McLarty.

Once the group business was concluded, the members were treated to a talk by Charles Garland of the Scottish Law Commission about the intricate and important work it does on the event of their 50th year in existence. Members took the opportunity to find out more about law reform during a friendly Q&A section of the talk with Charles.

The weather continued to shine on the group members as they left the meeting hall which was apt since the SLLG is sure of maintaining its sunny disposition into 2015.

Group members are reminded they can read the reports and minutes of the AGM part of the day on the ‘member publications’ page of the SLLG website in the member’s only section.
